Carrer Day

The daycare was asked to represent themselves at a high school career day. I went with one of my directors. As I was getting ready I felt bad that I didn't take more time to prepare. This is something important to kids that age, finding out more about different opportunities available to them. And for me, child care is so important and the impacts that we make on children at an early age are so great.

WELL, have any of you been in a high school lately? That was scary!! I sat there and just studied those children, they really can not be close to adults yet, and grew fear of what our future looks like. I will say, SOME, were heading into a good direction, but for the most part they were just there to get out of class and socialize. Not to mention, there short tops, heavy make up, and gangster looking clothes. We only had about 3 visitors the whole morning, one pregnant Junior and her friend and one really excited girl.

The booth next to us was the high school parenting education center. They had a Pregnancy Stimulator. I tryed it on, let me tell you, it is very heavy, all men should try it. All the guys that walked by tryed it on and tool pictures of it. That was the hit of the fair. I was curious so I looked at the information that they had to hand out, I thought it was on being parents, child development, NO! They had a brochure for each STD! How times have changed? I didn't even know what they were until much much later in life.

Now, I want my girls to go to boarding school when they get to Junior High. HA HA! I realize the things that they will have to deal with as they grow up and understand how I will have to grow up with them and try to be the best supporter I can as they deal with this.

Another reason I am feeling so scared about my children growing up, my little sister was giving me advice on being "COOL". She was giving me pointers on my writing, my LITTLE sister! Now I am scared and OLD, lol!

11 Year and Counting

Well, it only took 11 years of being away from friends and family to keep you in touch with us via Internet. (Have blogs been around that long?) I tryed writing in the beginning, but that was time consuming, then tryed email and I am now good at that. My parents and me try the web cam, when we can get it to work, that is way cool!

So, I guess for all of you that I don't talk to very often I should fill you in a little. Kevin now works for Sava Health Care and travel about 2-3 days a week to nursing home facilities that are anywhere from Laredo, TX to Corpus Christi, TX which are 2-3 hours away. He normally stays over and makes a big circle. He also got a fun car, a BMW convertible, Kaitlyn and Ally love it especially when he goes 100 miles! (no joke) Kevin has recently lost about 35 pounds eating healthier and bike riding. He has bought three bikes over the past 6 months and is very dedicated to riding.

I have been busy recovering from having baby Emily! I am adjusting to my new lifestyle. I am starting my return to work slowly, one day at a time! I have really enjoyed cooking and trying my Dad's recipes, or lack of them i should say. I just finished teaching a class to 13 employees at the day care for their Child Development Credential. I am proud to say that all of them passed! I enjoyed teaching them and feeling like I made an impact on them and in turn will make an impact on a child.

Kaitlyn is 9 and is a wonderful sister, well to the Cassidy and Emily. (Her and Ally fight like cats and dogs but that is normal sibling rivalry) She loves helping with the babies and showing them off to her friends. She has been dealing with the issues of growing up and maturing. Her and I have really enjoyed playing the Wii , Super Mario brothers. We are in world 4, anyone have tips for us?

Ally is almost 7, 2 more weeks. She is sweet little goose! She dances for the basketball team and enjoys Daisies with Girl Scouts. She is starting to mature, first grade has been hard but she is pulling through.
Cassidy, or Cass is so sweet. She is learning so much, almost too much. I have to be careful not to say things i don't want repeated. Like "Press A" when we play the Wii! LOL!
Emily, or Baby Mee is way too cute. She smiles all the time and loves to see what is going on! So far she has been a great baby and there hasn't been too much jealousy. We had her baby blessing at church and someone said that she was just a complete angel laying there in her Daddy's arms. She will be the Daddy's girl I am sure of it. He loves to lay with her and love her, more than the others at this age.
Well, that's our scoop! After finishing Christmas we are trying to get back to normal, whatever that may be. I'll post more pics once I find them!
